According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, the club is set to welcome Santos left-back Souza for a medical on Thursday, following the completion of Conor Gallagher's medical earlier in the week. GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed that Tottenham secured Gallagher's signature from Atletico Madrid, beating out Aston Villa in the process. The England international is set to sign a five-and-a-half-year deal with the north London club, which is a permanent move, while Aston Villa was only interested in a loan deal. Souza, on the other hand, is expected to join for a fee in the region of £15m. With these two new signings, Tottenham is looking to strengthen its squad, particularly in the forward line, which has been slightly weakened after Brennan Johnson's departure to Crystal Palace. The club is also in the market for further reinforcements, as they are yet to make any significant moves in the attacking department. Souza is likely to provide competition for Destiny Udogie at left-back, and his signing is seen as a long-term plan rather than an immediate impact player.
